Field Services Key Projects

FieldServicesKeyProject1Desulphurization Project

Work Start / Finish: 2004 – 2005

Nature and Scope of Work

Structural modules, pipe fabrication, and installation – Cycle X Project – design and fabrication of vessels, structural steel, platforms, and installation of all components. The individual modules for this project were completely fabricated in the Petersen Inc. facilities with all pipe fittings, components, and instrumentation installed and pretested prior to shipment. This shop effort greatly reduced the complexity and time required to complete the field installation and commissioning. The large field installation project with complex interfaces to existing plant systems and structures demonstrates our ability to manage and complete complex projects. Safety requirements applicable to these large lift and positioning operations inside a working refinery are significant and readily complied with by our experienced well trained staff. Numerous customer driven onsite changes were incorporated during the installation process, demonstrating the flexibility and teaming relationship with the customer that Petersen Inc. has become well known for.

Baghouse Retrofit

Work Start / Finish: 2006

Nature and Scope of Work

Plant Shutdown

Project Summary

Baghouse retrofit and installation.  Fabrication of new baghouse, stacks, foundations, controls, and installation during plant shutdown. The large fabricated components and install of these under tight time constraints of a plant shut down show the commitment of Petersen Inc. to partnering with customers to meet their needs. Control system integration on this project required all of the new equipment to interface with existing plant control system with minimum down time.

FieldServicesKeyProject3

Plant Shutdown

Work Start / Finish: 2002

Nature and Scope of Work

Fabrication and installation of complete new Kupla furnace and supporting structure, baghouse, ductwork, platforms and mezzanines, stairways, transload system, railcar track and spurs, concrete work, electrical, and all other general construction phases.

Project Summary

Major components were built in Petersen Inc. facilities and transported to job site. Some fabrication accomplished onsite along with assembly and final commissioning testing to demonstrate compliance with all customer requirements.

FieldServicesKeyProject4

Solid Rocket Booster M111 Work Platform

Work Start / Finish: 1998-1999

Nature and Scope of Work

Although this is a structural platform with moving parts, this project had extremely tight tolerance requirements in both the platform itself and the installation area.  This project was designed, built, and installed by Petersen Inc. at the ATK Thiokol plant in Brigham City / Tremonton, Utah, and was completed under intense safety and security requirements and a very short timeframe to satisfy customer schedule requirements.  This project was considered a great success by both ATK Thiokol and Petersen Inc.  Petersen Inc. provided design, fabrication, installations, and integration.
