Petersen Inc. provides health, dental, and vision insurance to its eligible team members at a reduced cost. Eligible team members are those that complete one month of service and work more than 30 hours per week for health.

Petersen Inc. provides life insurance to all full-time team members (must work 35 hours per week) and their dependents at no cost to the employee. To be eligible for life insurance, full-time team members must complete 90 days of continuous employment. Additional life insurance options are available for purchase.

Petersen Inc. has established a 401(k) for all eligible team members. You will be automatically enrolled at 3% in the plan after you complete 3 months of service (90 days of service after the first of the following quarter Jan 1st, Apr 1st, July 1st, Oct 1st).

Paid Time Off is given so team members can rest, relax, and pursue other interests. PTO is accrued after 90 days of continuous service (for non-exempt). The accrual rate for team members depends on years of service (average of 2-5 weeks PTO). Must work 35 hours per week to be eligible.

Petersen Inc. pays 70 hours of holiday pay each year to eligible team members (must work 35 hours per week to receive this benefit). These holidays are generally New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and one “floater” to be used at the company’s discretion (Eligible after 30 days of hire and work 35 hours or more).

Petersen Inc. shares a percentage of the company’s profits with its employees in an effort to encourage increased ownership and personal commitment. If all company goals are met, these bonuses are generally paid out in November (around Thanksgiving) and February (after year end). Profit sharing is for both full-time and part-time team members and is based on your percentage of the payroll.

Petersen Inc. team members work four 10-hour shifts (Monday through Thursday) allowing them to have 3-day weekends. Overtime is allowed/encouraged based on workload (Some overtime may be required). Overtime will be paid 1.5 times your hourly rate for hours worked in excess of 40 hours per week. Petersen's also operates 3 day weekend shift that works three 12's (work 36 hours but get paid for 40).

Petersen Inc. team members have the option of working day shift (6:30am to 5pm), swing shift (4:30pm to 3:00 am) or a weekend shift (three 12 hour days). Swing shift and weekend team members will receive a $2 shift differential added to their hourly wage, and weekend shifts work 36 hrs. but get paid for 40.

Group long-term disability insurance is provided for all full-time team members. The amount of the disability income benefit is equal to 60% of your base monthly earnings (up to $2,000). There is a waiting period of 90 days after the date disability occurs before the payments start.

Petersen Inc. offers other benefit plans that you can elect for yourself and/or family such as group short-term disability, critical illness, and accident insurance. Eligibility to enroll in these benefits will be offered during open enrollment and at date of hire.

In an effort to encourage personal growth and career advancement, Petersen Inc. provides 100% training reimbursement for eligible team members. Team members may request training reimbursement to maintain or enhance current job performance or advance skills training to qualify for the next position in the job family. To be eligible, team members must work for the company for 3 months.

Petersen Inc. recognizes the importance of family and the difficulty that team members face following the loss of a loved one. For that reason, Petersen Inc. grants its workers bereavement leave of 10-30 hours if a team member’s immediate family dies.

Petersen Inc. offers a relocation plan for eligible team members who are hired outside of the community. A reimbursement of $500 - $2000 will be given depending on distance of move (Moving receipts are required for reimbursement. Contact HR for details).

Petersen Inc. holds annual summer and holiday parties. These are held at no cost to the team member and include the team member’s spouse and/or family. Other events are held such as golf tournaments, sporting events, etc. to build comradery.

Team members have the option to participate in the company Wellness Program. Participation directly impacts the premiums paid for health insurance options at different levels. Petersen Inc. cares about the wellbeing of their team members emotionally, occupationally, socially, financially, and physically and has different options and programs available to assist.
