Mike Griffith

President

Mike is President of Petersen Inc. in Ogden, UT, and of Major Tool and Machine in Indianapolis, IN. Mike filled the role as President at Petersen, Inc. upon their acquisition to Precinmac in April 2022. He joined Major Tool in May of 1994 upon graduating from IUPUI with a BS degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology through Purdue University. He has spent over 25 years working in various roles throughout the organization. This experience included an Engineering rotation that allowed him to gain invaluable experience as a machinist, welder, assembler, inspector and process engineer. The opportunity to learn the business at a grass roots level led to many professional leadership positions throughout his career and eventually to his appointment as President in January of 2018.

Andy Plyler

General Manager

Andy is a 30 year veteran of the aerospace manufacturing industry. Andy began his manufacturing career as a Machinist at Delta Air Lines in Atlanta, GA. Within a few years, Andy was promoted into Delta’s Industrial Engineering group and eventually became the Manager of the team. From Delta, Andy went to work as the operational leader for BF Goodrich’s Airframe Technical Services business in Everett, WA, a business that specializes in the major repair and overhaul of large commercial aircraft.  After Goodrich, Andy managed the Engine Component repair business for Honeywell Aerospace in Phoenix, AZ, a business that repairs and manufactures engine piece parts for turboprop and turbofan power plants. Over the last several years, Andy has managed CNC manufacturing businesses that primarily specialized in large commercial, defense and space aerostructures.

Andy earned his BA in Business Management from Kennesaw State University.  Andy is a veteran of the US Army, serving in the 82nd Airborne Division at Ft. Bragg, NC.

Casey Jones

Chief Financial Officer

As a Chief Financial Officer of Precinmac,  Casey is over their Large Format Division (Petersen Inc. and Major Tool & Machine). Casey is responsible for the overall financial strategy of the companies. Petersen’s financial strategy includes long-range financial planning to maximize the value of each employee owner’s share value, maintenance of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) for financial reporting, and transparency to ensure the continued integrity of Petersen Inc.’s financial capabilities. Casey brings years of experience in managing financial activities to the Petersen Inc. team. As a licensed CPA in the state of Utah, Casey has a strong accounting background and skills related to cost management for government contracts and cash flow management. He began his career with a top tier fuel supplier and continued to gain experience in corporate cash management for a decade before becoming a CFO of a Utah steel corporation. Mr. Jones holds a B.A. in Accounting and a Masters in Business Administration from Weber State University.

 

Kim Steed

Executive Secretary

Kim has been a team member of Petersen Inc. since 1992, giving her nearly 3 decades of working in the Fabrication Industry. Kim started at Petersen Inc. as a payroll clerk and now oversees all administration of retirement and benefits as Executive Secretary. Kim is a key member of Petersen’s Ethics and Compliance Committee. Mrs. Steed graduated from Weber State University with a degree in Secretarial Science.

Frank Shaw

Vice President, Program Office

Frank has been a valued team member at Petersen Inc. since 1988.   His leadership and management skills over the last 25 plus years makes him a valuable asset to all areas of the company. Frank understands the needs of all sides of the business and has experience in both the estimating and purchasing sides of Petersen Inc. Originally from the Ogden area, Frank attended Utah State University where he received both his Bachelor’s degree and his Master’s degree and is a “True Aggie” basketball fan – having played on the USU Men’s Basketball Varsity Team.

Bart Anderson

Vice President of Productivity

Bart Anderson joined the Petersen Inc. team in 1999 and currently serves as the Vice President of Productivity. His background, experience, and education in manufacturing engineering makes him a key asset to the management team. His responsibilities include overseeing continuous improvement initiatives (such as “The Precinmac Way”) and ensuring that Petersen Inc. is reaching its full potential. He received his bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering from Brigham Young University.

Dave Dixon

Director of HR/Ethics Officer, PHR, CCEP

Dave has been a team member of Petersen Inc. since 1983. Mr. Dixon oversees all Human Resource efforts of Petersen Inc. including recruiting, hiring, general employee issues, legal and policy compliance, training and discipline. Dave also directs the company’s Ethics and Compliance, and the Environmental Health and Safety departments. Dave is instrumental in keeping management informed of issues relating to employees and employee safety, and relays management objectives and incentives to employees. Dave worked in the Petersen Inc. facilities as a machine operator and welder for many years, and is familiar with all aspects of the company. This has allowed him to have great rapport with the employees throughout the company. Dave received his Bachelor’s degree from Weber State University, and his Master of Arts in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix. He speaks Japanese and is active in the community in many areas including member of Northern Utah Manufacturers Alliance and the 2008-2009 President of Northern Utah Human Resource Association.

Brett Wagner

Director of Machining

Brett brings a very well composed set of manufacturing management skills gained over three decades. He has held positions including Cost Accounting/Inventory Control, Production Control Manager, Purchasing Manager, Project Manager, Operations Manager, Business Development, Precision Machining Division Manager and most recently promoted to the Director of Machining Operations. Brett serves on the Machining Board for the Ogden Weber Applied Technology College. He is also a member of the National Tooling and Machining Association. Brett attended both Weber State University and the University of Phoenix studying business management.

Scott Sugimoto

Estimating Manager

Scott has over 20 years of fabrication experience-such as fitter/welder, machinist, process planner, and estimator. He has manufactured and estimated projects for all industries including mining, aerospace, nuclear, and entertainment. This vast experience and knowledge of manufacturing processes make him an integral member of the management team. His responsibilities include managing all operations and personnel in the Estimating department including analyzing incoming RFQ’s, specifications, drawings and other documentation to make assignments and distribute the workload within the Estimating department.

Jeff Schutte

Idaho Production Manager

Jeff joined Petersen Inc. in 2007 as the Idaho facility Production Manager. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Idaho in Mechanical Engineering. He has 20 years’ experience in manufacturing and engineering and currently oversees all manufacturing at our Idaho facility. His years of experience includes preparing and reviewing contracts, work scopes, project costs, planning and scheduling, manufacturing and production planning, as well as working with customers on project specifics, planning, approvals and coordination.

John Rasband

EH&S Engineer, CSP

John joined Petersen Inc. in 2003. With more than a decade of environmental health and safety experience, he is instrumental in improving safety and empowering employees to make a safer work environment at Petersen Inc., John holds the CSP designation from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals and is a member of the local chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers. He serves on the Local Emergency Planning Committee. He teaches many safety and first aide courses. At Petersen Inc. John controls administration of compliance with safety policies and procedures; oversees all safety training of new hires and existing employees; administers security programs and ensures the safety of our employees and projects. John was recently appointed to Governor Herbert’s Air Quality Board and speaks fluent Korean.
